It's Puppy Dog Heaven for Man's Best Friend with This Kennel, Fence and Manger-Style Shed

Alex and Sarah Mutnick were looking for a solution to their pooch problem for their East Olympia home. Their dogs were turning their yard into a doggie minefield, making it impossible for their children to go out and play. AJB Services solved this problem by building them this open-air, enclosed dog kennel, featuring a cedar-framed kennel fence and a crushed rock pad in the rear for a utility shed.

To create this hound haven, we first removed the grass and about 3 inches of topsoil next to the driveway and garage. We then laid down a long-lasting, weed-blocking, landscaping fabric base, followed by steel fencing. After this, we covered the ground with sliverless cedar chips to provide odor control. This combination of fencing and cedar chips will prevent the dogs from digging up the ground inside the kennel and hurting their paws. We finished this doggie delight with a kennel fence, featuring a durable, pressure-treated wood frame and steel fencing. This allows the dogs to see what's going on around them while keeping them safe and secure. On days when it rains, the dogs can retreat to their manger-style shed to stay dry.

The Mutnicks love the result. Now they have a safe place to put their dogs outside, and their kids can tromp through the yard without picking up any unexpected presents on their shoes.
