Rural Thurston County Property Gets a Landscaping Facelift

A little bit of landscaping can make a huge difference. That's the philosophy we worked from with this home in south Thurston County.

Their property was fully landscaped and fenced, but they were looking to add some character. We built raised landscape beds in the front yard using flat stones and capstones. This approach helps keep landscape bark from spilling over to the lawn. We also installed drip irrigation and new foliage.

For the backyard, we created a softscape border along the fenceline, and built a firepit area in the back right corner. The landscape beds include a composite border, which will permanently keep grass from growing into the beds. The 50" firepit adds a gathering place to the backyard, an inviiting area to spend time with family and friends. We also added rock features and planted shrubs and new trees to add more variety.
